Use of the official UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE website is free of charge. However, the contracting of some of the services offered on this website may be, currently or in the future, subject to the payment of a fee, in which case this will be duly indicated.

In general, access to and use of this website does not require prior registration of users.

Exceptionally, however, access to certain services is subject to the user’s registration in the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE’s databases. In these cases, personal data provided to the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE as a result of using the website will be processed by the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE under the terms and conditions specified in clause 7 of these General Conditions of Use.

The names «Universitat d’Alacant», «Universidad de Alicante», as well as other distinctive signs (graphic or word) that appear on this website, are the exclusive property of the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE, which has duly registered them. Their ownership grants it, in accordance with Art. 34 of Law 17/2001, of 17 December, on Trademarks, as well as other national legislation that may be applicable, the exclusive right to use the aforementioned distinctive signs in the course of trade. Consequently, their use by third parties without authorisation is prohibited.

The possible presence on this site of distinctive signs owned by third parties other than those mentioned in the preceding paragraph is made for non-commercial purposes and with the authorisation of their legitimate owners, always with due respect for their exclusive rights.

4.2 Domain names

In the same sense as that referred to in the previous section, the domain name «https://metaversechair.ua.es» and all those used to directly access this official site are the exclusive property of the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE. The improper use of the same in the course of business would be an infringement of the rights conferred by their registration and will be prosecuted by the means provided for by law.

4.3 Copyright

4.3.1 The contents, texts, photographs, designs, logos, images, sounds, videos, animations, recordings, computer programs, source codes and, in general, any intellectual creation on this official site, as well as the site itself as a whole as a multimedia artistic work, are protected as copyright by intellectual property legislation.

4.3.2 Exempt from this protection are those files or computer programmes which are not owned by the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE and which are freely accessible (freeware) which the user can download from various pages of this site in order to enable access to them. They are, in any case, applications that are in the public domain by the express will of their authors.
